Minoti's red gilet is a lightly padded sleeveless layer with a stand-up collar, cut to slide under a coat without adding bulk. Red shows up quickly when a gilet gets left on a bench at the end of break. The collar comes up around the neck without a scarf underneath, and the zip runs the full length so it opens in a warm classroom without going over his head.
